Community Etiquette
· State concisely and clearly the topic of your comments in the subject line.
· Include a signature tag on all discussions. Include your name and organization.
· Send messages such as "thanks for the information" or "me, too" directly to individuals -- not as a posting to the entire community.
· Do not send or post administrative messages, such as “remove me from the community” or questions about membership status. Instead, use the Contact Us button.
The Rules
In order to preserve a climate that encourages both civil and fruitful dialogue, SRA reserves the right to suspend or terminate access to the Networking Nirvana for members who violate the Terms of Service or the Online Community Policies including the following rules:
· Networking Nirvana is meant to stimulate networking and conversation not to create contention or to air grievances. Let others have their say, just as you may. Don't attack other users, SRA or the SRA staff. Use a direct email to the individual or a telephone call to address any concerns you may have.
· Don't post commercial messages. This includes selling products and services, endorsing products or services, or posting job openings. You may describe your personal experience with a product or service as long as you do not have a conflict of interest, e.g., business or familial relationship.
· All participation in Networking Nirvana and the SRA web site should reflect the Society’s Code of Ethics and the Statement of Responsibilities and Professional Conduct.
· Use caution when discussing products or commercial markets. Information posted is subject to defamation and antitrust laws.
· All defamatory, abusive, profane, threatening, offensive, or illegal materials are strictly prohibited.
· Do not use Networking Nirvana to send mass emails to other users/members or chain letters, unsolicited advertising, or any junk e-mails.
· Do not impersonate any other Networking Nirvana user or entity nor will you represent that your opinions represent those of another user, SRA, its officers, directors or employees.
· You take sole responsibility for the content of your Postings. SRA has no obligation to pre-screen, monitor, edit, or delete Postings generated by participants in Networking Nirvana, such as discussion boards or chat rooms, but SRA reserves the right to do so if any Postings do not comply with the Rules or are otherwise harmful, inaccurate or objectionable. SRA is not responsible for any failure or delay in removing Postings that fail to comply with the Rules.
· You grant SRA the non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free unrestricted license (with the right to sub-license) to reproduce, distribute, publicly display and perform, adapt, translate, and modify your Postings in whole or in part in any form now known or later developed.
· You will not upload, post, email, transmit or otherwise make available any information, files, code or other materials that are unlawful, tortuous, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, or libelous, or that are threatening, abusive, or harassing on the basis of an individual’s (or groups of individuals’) religion, gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, age, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
· You will not upload, post, email, transmit or otherwise make available any information, files, code or other materials that contain viruses or are able to disrupt or damage SRA’s or SRA Interactive Features members’ software, hardware or equipment.
· You acknowledge that your Postings are non-confidential and any ideas, inventions, or know-how disclosed in them will be available to the public.
· You represent and warrant that your Postings will not violate another person’s copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, right to privacy or publicity, or any other proprietary or personal right.
